Amy's wedding dress story

Amy and I were out at her engagement party when she started sharing with me how she would like to see herself on her wedding day. From explaining her likes and dislikes, having a ceremony by the beach, and a various number of other ideas, I was able to envision a dress perfect for her. I put my thoughts together and came up with a design and emailed it to her the next day. In detail, I explained my vision of her bias cut silk charmeuse halter dress with swarowski crystal cascade beading, hand made rosette trim, chiffon gathered empire waist, and delicate sweeping train. The design was an instant hit and I began working on the first muslin.

We met for our first fitting, made alterations and some design element changes that were needed.

Since silk charmeuse drapes differently then muslin, I made a second mock up in green charmeuse to make sure the dress fit properly in the same fabric. Once all adjustments to the green dress were made on Amy, it was onto the final wedding dress!

We had another fitting in her white gown prior to adding the zipper and finishing the hem to make sure the bride was comfortable and happy with the dress.

I added the swarowski crystals, beaded Amy & Brandon's name into the lining of the dress as the "something blue", completed her veil and rosette hair pins, finished her white faux fur shrug and matching satin crystal studded handbag, jewelled her wedding shoes with her new initials, and turned a piece of her mother's wedding dress into a rhinestone buckled waist train for her to wear on her wedding day. Amy was a vision of beauty...
