Kim's wedding dress design and fabrics

A white silk organza rouched sweetheart neckline beaded with pearls and sequins, 5" lace trim with french pearls and clear sequin beading accent the waist and hem line of this beautiful strapless trumpet gown. White silk organza with diamond corded pattern and clear sequin detail drapes the body and gently flows with a 3" pleated silk organza border that sweeps the floor down to a chapel length train. An oval veil trimmed with lace will come down to the knee and complete Kimberly's wedding dress look.
I am waiting for her dress form to come in to begin draping her fabulous gown. I am looking forward to making Kimberly's wedding dress and giving her the opportunity to have the dress of her dreams. She is a sweetheart and deserves it!

Meeting Kimberly Henderson - the bride who inspired me with her story

All I can say is that Kim was such a delight to finally meet! Her Mother and soon-to-be Mother-in-law came along with her, they were warm and kind and I was fortunate to have met them. We were able to look at some dresses together and figure out what will work best for Kim on her wedding day.
The love of lace, soft romantic fabrics, and sparkling detail enticed Kim's eye. I was able to envision her in a gown with a rouched crumb organza top, rhinestone beaded trim accents, lace body with a curve hugging silhouette, and a light embellished train.
We meet up again on Friday to go over some additional styles and then I will begin the measuring to start making her wedding dress. I will follow up with photos and illustrations and allow everyone to be involved with the story in the making of Kim's wedding dress.

A successful event - Soiree in the City

Soiree in the City on Saturday January 17th was a success! With all of the hard work and time Laura Eaton put in to gathering such fantastic vendors such as: Kristel Closets, Beke Beau make-up artist (who made me look and feel fabulous, thanks Beke!), Dawn Lewis Designs, Bonzie, Queen of Hearts, and Scarlett Bride, everyone enjoyed themselves and was able to share their expertise with all of the Brides-to-be!
I want to personally thank all of the Brides for attending! I also want to thank my friends Amy Shuler and Georgette Sipalla for being my models and for looking absolutely beautiful! The event was such a hit that Laura is thinking of doing another event in April, so please be sure to check back for further details.

Sunday's photo shoot with Laura Eaton photography and Beke Beau make-up artist

On Sunday, Laura Eaton Photography, Beke Beau Make-up artist, and myself met in Old City at the Laura Eaton studio for a fabulous photo shoot to prep for our "Soiree in the City" event coming up this Saturday. It was such a great experience working with Laura and Beke, who do such an amazing job at what they do. I received a few test shots that I wanted to share with you. I look forward to working with them in the future and definitely recommend them to be a part of your future events! I can't wait to see how the rest of the pictures turn out! A special thanks to both Laura Eaton and Beke Beau for making Sunday a lot of fun and for putting their hard work and time into making these pictures looks stunning.

Her wedding will take place in Maryland on July 4,2008. We will be meeting in the city next week to begin designing and creating her dream wedding dress. I will keep a journal of Kim's story leading up to her special day and posting photos of the transformation from idea to final dress.

I also want to remind everyone about "Soiree in the City" coming up on January 17th. I would love to see you there and meet you in person! There, I will be giving away illustrations created by your individual ideas to show you what your wedding dress could look like. I posted a link below that includes all of the details. Hope to see you there!
